Essentially Shamrock is small leaf (read young) clover or trefoil and many different varieties of clover could qualify as Shamrock. Normally these are two extremely elusive characters, but for one day only you will spot hoards of them knocking about every town in Ireland. Not sure if it is from watching Geronimo and the likes in old western’s growing up, but is seems we all love to don a little face paint on Paddy’s day no matter what age we are.
