Localmint App — Quickly Find Store Opening Hours
Localmint’s Free App (iOS & Android) enables consumers to quickly search for store opening hours and locations for most leading retailers from their current location, while the platform is open to independent retailers to upload their own store details for free.

Localmint announces the launch of the Localmint iOS and Android applications, available on the respective stores for free. Building on the 1m monthly unique visitors to Localmint’s website, the app enables consumers to search for store details such as opening hours and locations via their smartphone in a much more efficient and intuitive way than is currently possible.
“We have built this for ourselves, because we know what a pain it can be to find and navigate store locators on a smartphone” said Ranga Vadhineni, founder and CEO of Localmint. “We know this is a widespread problem experienced by many consumers, because nearly 1m unique monthly users come to our site each month and that has been achieved with little or no publicity or marketing budget. Approximately 70% of those users access our site via smartphones and tablets.”
With the Localmint app, consumers can find store details for the leading supermarkets, pharmacies, clothing stores and electrical retailers etc. much quicker, but they can also search for the information in different ways that provide the optimum results. Users can search by category of store from their current location with one tap of the screen and are quickly presented with the distance relevant stores are from them, as well as the opening times and a map view option. Alternatively they can search for a particular brand or category of store in a specified destination.
“While other apps have similar offerings, we are market leaders when it comes to providing opening hours and locations for so many of the big retail chains. We have focused on this since day one and providing an excellent user experience is at the heart of everything we do, so search times are really quick with uncluttered screens” says Ranga.
Localmint’s mission is to make it easy for consumers to find the retailers they are looking for. The team are currently developing social features, which will add a new dimension to the results of said searches, as well as offering a new way in which people can share their shopping experiences and promote their favourite stores.
Localmint also helps small retailers by providing them with a free open platform that they can use to help attract more customers. The upfront cost and ongoing maintenance of an app of this standard would be beyond the budget of most independent retailers, never mind the time it would take to develop and successfully market it. The advantage of using the Localmint app for such retailers is that the sheer mass of retailers on the platform drives traffic to the benefit of all. All retailers from the big box supermarket chains to small independent shops can get on Localmint today for absolutely nothing.
